Role within ImmUniverse
UniSR will be responsible for conducting the clinical trial testing of Low Intensity Pulsed Ultrasound Therapy (LIPUS) as a new non-invasive tool for predicting the course of ulcerative colitis. Ulcerative Colitis is a chronic inflammatory condition of the colon with a high impact on quality of life, characterized by an unpredictable course of disease requiring frequent invasive endoscopic monitoring.
San Raffaele Study Group has been showing over the years expertise and knowledge about UC management and is one of the most acknowledged groups worldwide. In particular, the IBD Unit (Ospedale San Raffaele), part of the Gastroenterology Department, is a world-renowned center of excellence for the treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) as well as clinical research and technological innovation in the field.
